Easiest Method To Copy Contacts From Xiaomi Android To iPhone

In this post, we will be discussing the easiest method to copy contacts from Xiaomi Android phone to iPhone.

When it comes to copying contacts from an Android phone to iPhone and vice versa, there are quite a handful of tutorials on the internet that explains how to do that.

I followed the step that involved using an app in copying contacts from my iPhone to Android. Although that worked, for some unknown reason, it didn’t copy every contact. This, I had to deal with.

Moving back to iPhone having used an Android phone as my main device for a while, it became necessary to move new contacts saved from the Xiaomi Android phone, to the iPhone. This was super necessary for the sake of WhatsApp status update feature.

Having to store them one after the other on the iPhone will be a long bumpy ride and for that reason, it was necessary to just copy the contacts from Xiaomi Android phone to iPhone.

While I did stumble on some resourceful sites showing how to do this, they didn’t really work. At least, not for me. I however, was able to devise a means around this and for this reason, I have decided to share the simplest way to copy contacts from Xiaomi Android phone to iPhone.

This method doesn’t entail having to store your Gmail account on the iPhone. That method didn’t work for me in moving the contacts. Hence, the reason why I had to go through this route.

The easiest method to copy just contacts from Xiaomi Android phone to iPhone is via a vcf file. And the way to get all the contacts saved into a vcf file from the android phone to iPhone, is to export from the Android device, and send to the iPhone.

Not to worry, I will give you a step by step guide to getting this done.

To better understand this, we will break it down into steps.

Is that okay?

Great! Let’s begin with the first step.

Export Contacts From Xiaomi Android Phone

This step involves having to export contacts from the Xiaomi phone to the available storage options. This could be saved into the phone or sent to an email.

To do this on the Xiaomi Android phone, follow these steps:

export contacts from Xiaomi Android phone to iPhone

  • Go to contacts
  • Tap on the more icon and tap on Import/Export contacts (follow image above)
  • Under the export option, select Share Contacts
  • Choose your preferred emailing service and have it sent to an email address already registered on the iPhone.

That’s it. We’ve successfully exported all the contacts on the Xiaomi Android phone as an attachment to the email address registered on the iPhone.

The next step would be importing the contact file.

Import Contacts From Android To iPhone

This is self-explanatory, I believe. This method entails saving or importing the contacts sent from the android phone to the iPhone. To do this, follow these steps:

import contacts from android to iPhone

  • On the iPhone, open the email account you sent the contacts too.
  • Open the email and tap on the vcf attachment file.
  • On the next page, tap on the share icon. See the image above for direction.
  • On the next page, scroll and select copy to contacts.
  • When the next page open, all the contacts will be displayed. Tap on the save option.

That’s it. You’ve finally copied all your contacts from your Xiaomi Android phone to the iPhone.

If you have same contacts on the iPhone and the Android, they will be saved twice. This shouldn’t be much of a problem. If however, you are not comfortable with it, feel free to delete one of the duplicate contact. This, you have to do manually.

Although that’s the simplest method to copy contacts from Xiaomi Android to iPhone, there are other methods to doing same.

The only reason why I choose to share the steps above and tagged it as the easiest, is because that’s precisely what worked for me. Of course, you are more than welcome to explore other options.

Other Methods To Copy Contacts From Android To iPhone

Below are a few other methods I tried. Perhaps, it could work for you. Especially if you use an Android phone different from a Xiaomi phone.

Store Gmail account On iPhone

This method involves having to move your Google account to the iPhone. Doing so, mails, contacts and other supported features are copied from the android device to the iPhone.

To do this, follow these steps:

  • On the iPhone, Go to settings
  • Under settings, go to passwords & accounts
  • Under passwords & accounts, tap on Add Account.
  • Next, select Google and input your Google account credentials.
  • On the next page, make sure contacts is toggled on. Thereafter, Done.

There is also another method which is said to be moving just contacts rather than the google account.
